Line up along both sides of Main Street Downtown Sandy Hook Kentucky.
Parade starts at 5:30 PM.

Fall Into Fun at Grayson Lake
Stop by Grayson Lake for this night of fun family friendly Halloween activities. Food, Games, Face Painting, a Movie, and tons of Candy!
Independence Day Celebration
Come for the food, stay for the music, experience the fireworks. This year, Downtown Sandy Hook will be host for food trucks, a lemonade stand. Live music starts at 3:30pm in the gazebo with Billy Stegall, Nathan Coots, John Ryster with HogTown, and Don Rigsby.
Bridge Day
We invite you to join the Laurel Gorge community in celebration of the restored Laurel Gorge steel truss bridge on Old KY 7. Enjoy some local flavors. Take a scenic walk along one of the Laurel Gorge trails. Identify mushrooms on a hike guided by the Bluegrass Mycological Society. Or just appreciate the heritage that is Elliott County.

Grayson Lake's Trunk or Treat
Bring the family to Grayson Lake for this year’s Trunk or Treat.
There will be Food, Games, a Movie, Inflatables, Face Painting, and tons of CANDY!

Elliott County Annual Christmas Jubilee
The Christmas Jubilee is being kicked off with a Christmas Market on Main Street in downtown Sandy Hook. Stop by before the Christmas Parade for pictures with Santa, crafts, and entertainment for the whole family, with plenty of food options to last the day.
Laurel Gorge Cultural Heritage Center Open House
The Laurel Gorge Cultural Heritage Center will host an Open House from 1:00 - 4:00 on Saturday, December 3rd. Santa will be visiting from 1:00 - 2:00 and will gladly take pictures with the kids. The Laurel Gorge Mountain Dulcimer Club will have their Christmas Concert from 2:00 - 3:00. Refreshments will be served. Come out and enjoy an afternoon filled with Christmas cheer!

Sign-Ups will be held at the Little Sandy Lodge, November 10th & 11th, from 5:30-7:30pm.

Christmas Craft & Vendor Fair
Join us for our Christmas Craft & Vendor Fair at the Laurel Gorge Cultural Heritage Center on Saturday, November 26th. Come out and support our local artisans and small business owners who will provide an amazing selection of seasonal decor, great gift items, some sweet treats, and much more. It's the Saturday right after Thanksgiving, the perfect opportunity to check off some of the names on your Christmas shopping list. Our doors will be open 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. We hope to see you then!
Knitting Workshop
Join instructor, Nicole Winkleman, for a Knitting Workshop for beginners on Thursday, Oct. 27th at 6:00 p.m. Participants will learn casting-on, basic stitches, and casting-off. Just in time for the winter season, a cowl will be the project for this session. The fee is $25.00. Participants must message or call 606-738-5543 to reserve a space. Seating is limited.
Hike & Learn Third Fridays
Join us for a guided hike with Carter County Extension Agent, Rebecca Knopf. Large groups can contact the office for other event opportunities.
Fall Hog Roast
Newcombe Valley Baptist Church Annual Fall Hog Roast Dinner & Hay Ride. Event will start @4:30pm. Everyone is welcomed to come and have a good time. There will be a Pie Baking contest and pies will be judged for overall best pie. There will be inside games to play after dinner & door prize games. There will also be outdoor games to play. We would love to see everyone come out, join us, and fellowship with everyone with some delicious dinner and fun activities. Please like and share to help get the word out through the community. Elliott County 5K Kayak
The Elliott County Tourism committee invites all kayakers 14 years and up, to participate in Elliott County's first 5K kayak challenge. Registration is $20 per kayak.
The race will start at Grayson Lake's Newfoundland Ramp and end at Caney Ramp.
Each age category will have prizes for the first 3 winners. Participation prizes will be available as well.
Let's Sew with Liz
Join us at the Laurel Gorge Cultural Heritage Center on Wednesday, October 12th, for a basic sewing workshop with Liz Turner. Her beautiful quilts are featured on her Facebook page for Lillebit Quilts. Liz also creates incredible purses, cosmetic bags, and various handbags. We are excited to have this talented lady lead our workshop on how to measure, cut, and sew a basic tote bag. This will be a great learning opportunity for beginners or just a fun time for anyone who loves to sew and wants another handbag (We can never have too many of those!).
The fee for the session is $20. Participants are encouraged to bring cutting mats, rotary cutters, rulers, and sewing machines, if possible. It's ok if you don't bring your own, but the process may be a little slower if we are sharing equipment.
Please message us or call 606-738-5543 to reserve a space by October 3rd. We will need to know your choice of fabric colors (interior & exterior). We hope you can join us. It will be sew much fun!
Community Wide Yard Sale
The Elliott County Arts Council wishes to invite everyone to come and set up with us and bring your yard sale merchandise to sell at no cost to you. We will have hotdog dinner with chips, dessert, and pop or water for $5.00. If you plan on setting up you just need to bring your tables, chair, and tent if you want. Come on out and enjoy a day of Yard Sale Fun.

Laurel Gorge Quilters Meeting
Join the Laurel Gorge Quilters for their monthly meeting on Thursday, September 29th at 1:00 p.m. We have a couple of projects that will be due then. Fidget quilts and blocks for the Laurel Gorge display quilt need to be turned in at that meeting. Be sure to bring any projects you've been working on and be ready to share ideas for upcoming projects! We need a new community-service project, and I’d like something fun for us to plan for Christmas. So, put your thinking caps on and see what kind of ideas you can come up with! Quilters of all skill levels are welcome!
Tobacco Fest
Live performances, a parade, and booths are what you can expect at the Elliott County Tobacco Festival. Come shop one of the many vendor booths, play in the inflatables, or decorate a tobacco stick.
